THE ACCOMMODATIONS: Home At First’s principal lodging in Christchurch is a luxury bed and breakfast inn set in a restored Victorian mansion. Each spacious room has been styled individually with fine furnishings. Guests can expect large bathrooms, writing desks, telephones, videos and TV in each suite, as well as bathrobes, slippers, shoeshine kits, toothbrushes, and magazines. Most rooms have their own fireplaces. Although the Christchurch Inn is a non-smoking accommodation, guests may smoke on the verandah and outdoor picnic area. |

TranzAlpine,
west into the snowcapped peaks of the Southern Alps and back as a day’s outing. A
