ADVENTURES WHILE WALKING
Skiing. Snow boarding. Mountaineering. Ice climbing. Base Jumping. Parasailing. Wing-suit flying. Mürren attracts all kinds of extreme daredevils to its challenging alpine geography. We’ve been adventuring in Mürren for years and have never left the ground except to travel in the regional cablecars. There are dozens of less-risky adventures available to walkers who venture forth from Mürren. True enough, there are challenging hikes possible in the Mürren area that by themselves qualify as adventures. But there are also fairly tame walks that lead to memorable adventures, including chance encounters with wildlife, spectacular waterfalls, and amazing panoramas of Switzerland’s Bernese Alps. Some walks are best done in hiking boots. You might want have hiking poles for some of the longer, steeper trails. A backpack is always helpful. Sunscreen, a hat, & rain gear offer weather protection. Bring a picnic. Bring a camera.
Bring a sense of Adventure.
ADVENTURE #1 — Close Encounter at Wassenegg Ridge
Mürren is a wonderful place to experience chance adventures. But it is not the only place for such exciting serendipity. Every Home At First Switzerland location offers a different combination of Nature and Culture ready for exploration and discovery. For that matter, all Home At First locations provide the possibility for adventure. Adventure, it turns out, is the natural companion of Independent Travel.
